Assisted Sailing Program at Imperial Yacht Club, Zandvlei
We are very pleased to invite you all to the next sailing course that will be run by Linsay Ferguson. The gentle autumn and winter southerly winds are perfect for learning how to sail and the kids can spend hours on the water without fear of capsizing in overly strong gusts. Linsay is a SAS Level 2 accredit coach with many years of experience and is fantastic with kids.

The next training will be starting next Sunday (19 May) and will be an Assisted Sailing course. This course will be for those who have already completed a novice course and would like to build confidence on the water and/or start preparing for learning to race. Linsay will coach you on perfecting everything you have already learnt and teach you some neat tricks on sailing really well. She has some great on the water games as well! As mentioned above, winter is an ideal time to learn and if there is a cold front or raining we of course will not send anyone out!

RS Tera
IYC has invested in more boats for training with three RS Teras in addition to the O9ers and Optimists. The RS Teras are perfect for older and taller sailors who are just to cramped on an O9er or Oppie. It is a great boat to learn on and is also a boat that you can race with.

The course is R600 (R500 for members). Use of the boats and life jackets are included in the course fee, as well as lots of fun and sailing.
