Links Aquatic Festival – 29-31 October 2010

On behalf of NSRI and Aquatic clubs in Gordon’s Bay I would like to request your club/s to participate in our annual Link Aquatic Festival. The goal of the festival is aimed to raise funds for the NSRI – (Station 9).

Station 9 Gordon’s Bay was established over 40 years ago to provide a sea rescue service for the Helderberg Basin. In this time the station has saved 225 lives and assisted 2013 persons in distress.

NSRI is a volunteer organisation which is reliant on the generosity of the public for funding and support, as well as their crewmen, who give up their personal time and risk their lives to save their fellow men in time of distress.

The Festival will take place on the week end of 29-31 October 2010. We are planning to raise fund by having an “Anything that floats” race between the Gordons bay old Harbour and Spur. See our website for more information:

We will also offer aquatic sport evens during that period to introduce the public to water sports and safety on the water. We will have the following attractions:

  • Sailing Yacht / Dinghy
  • Rubber duck Racing
  • Inshore angling competition
  • Open Navy Day
  • Raft Racing
  • Miss Link
  • Jet Ski Racing
  • Beer Fest with Live Bands and much more

Let’s try and get some dinghy at this festival.
