Junior Nationals feedback

We had a fantastic time up at the Vaal with challenging weather as well, rain, hail & lightning, strong winds, heat ... everything. Even had to buy a mop to mop up our flooded tent!

Our IYC Dabbie juniors did well. The majority of Dabbie sailors at the Junior Nationals were from the Western Cape with 11 coming from IYC, 7 from Mac and 2 from ZVYC.

There racing was very exciting with the overall winner only being decided after race 15, Congrats to Jon, Jason & Jeremy for winning the gold, silver & bronze medals with only 4 points difference.

It was anounced that the next Junior nationals would be in the Eastern cape, We took a vote at the Dabbie AGM, and voted against Swartvlei & PE, so Wrigglewade & Mosselbay are options. Theoretically its the Western Capes turn as the Sequence was, Theewaters, Mosselbay, Midmar, Vaal & now ?

We have sent a letter to SAS requesting it be held in the Western cape. Hopefully they will decide soon because if its in Mossel bay we need to book for December accomadation soon.

Our target is to have 40 Dabbies at the next Junior Nationals,

So this year bring a friend. Guys bring girls to the club. Mac has 4 Dabbie Lady sailors,

Axel of MAC has put loads of fun & regatta photos on both the MAC website, Dabbie Facebook page & Dabbie website.

Next regattas, Port Owen River Race, 22nd January, loads of fun. Hermanus Points Regstta, Round 4, 29 & 30 th January.

This is going to be an exciting year in the Dabbie class with serious competition amoungst the Dabbies......

Cheers
Rob
