Western Cape Dinghy Champs - Saldanha 2010

IYC sailors of all ages took part in this years Western Cape Dinghy Champs held at Sadanha over the weekend. Sailing usually started after 11.00am with the wind taking it's time to pick up. Although the water was cold at around 12C, and the chill factor quite frosty, the skies were clear.

Saturday afternoon's racing was in fair conditions. Racing on day 2 started late and was abandoned mid afternoon for lack of wind. At this stage the Dabbys had only managed to fit in two races in two days. Day three was more productive as the wind picked up and the Dabby sailors had a shortened course allowing for more races. Day four's wind was fresh and the fleet managed to fit in 10 races over the 4 days.

The event also proved to be a great social for the supporters and families.

Many thanks to the event organisers and sponsors for a most enjoyable event.
